July 4th Picnic Tablescape

Updated: Jan 8, 2022

Summer is in full swing! Here in the States one of the hallmark moments of the season…is none other than the 4th of July! That being said…Picnics and outdoor dining are usually also quite synonymous with our Independence Day celebrations! Soooo without any further ado….we set the table! *( We have added commissionable and shop-able links to this post)*

We will start with our floral arrangements…

All foraged from the yard…we stuck to a deep red and white theme.

Wild Yarrow, Dahlias, Astilbe, Coral Bell leaves, Purple Shamrock and Gazania (African Daisies) all made their way into Grammy‘s vintage milk glass and small clear bud vases from Crate&Barrel.

To accent the floral arrangements we used vintage candle holders of brass and clear glass. We used red and white candles to contrast our favorite blue dinner dishes!

Vintage cobalt and clear glass cups were used to stay in the color theme.

Went for a pop of color with the gingham napkins. It really brought all of the mis-matched salad plates & bowls together.

Let’s not forget our favorite Spode Blue Italian Placemats! Or the vintage silver flatware that I‘ve collected at yard sales over they years! Our friends got us the beautiful Laguiole Steak Knives as a Christmas present and guys for real life changed! These are the best and most beautiful steak knives we‘ve ever owned! Also, how they knew I always wanted a set is beyond me! Haha!

We tried to keep the candles lit throughout the shoot and into dinner….but the wind kept blowing them out!

Drinks were set out on our makeshift bar cart!

And we surely didn’t forget to put the cushions on the chairs! Dinner chats can go extra long with the nice fluff on the seats!

We hope this post inspires you to create your own fun backyard picnic oasis this 4th of July!

Cheers!
